Hey folks! It’s been a spell since we did a big communication with the community. Hope everyone has been enjoying their summer. Life’s been getting in the way for many of us. I recently got married, Thomas had a baby, Pat hosted a fantastic Kelowna ComiCon, and we’ve all been enjoying a nice break after pretty intense Spring.

That being said, we’ve hear ya’ll want more events, right?

So you’re getting more events! The last couple of weeks the team has been planning out the next 18 months to include quite a selection of Hammertime events.

Hammertime: Summer Smash RTT – SOLD OUT

Many of you might already be aware of the Summer Smash RTT at Obsidian Games in Vernon. Sadly we’ve already sold out the tickets to this event but I wanted to call out that we’ve made some adjustments moving forward for future Obsidian RTT’s. We’re so lucky to have access to this space but due to other event conflict we’re migrating from running Saturdays to Sundays for the foreseeable future. The Obsidian Team has graciously indicated they will stay open a little bit later when we run an RTT on Sunday as well.

Stay tuned for more RTT announcements in future by joining our Discord.

Hammertime: Two Heads – Doubles RTT

Back again due to popular demand is another Doubles RTT! Two Heads will be hosted at MNP Place in Kelowna BC. We’ve opened up registration for 20 teams of 2, for a total of 40 players this time.

How does Doubles work you ask? Two players play as one, each fielding their own 1,000 point incursion list. Its a great way to team up with a buddy and roll some dice.

Hammertime: Double Trouble in Full Swing!

Like our other 1-day events this will be a bit more casual, but there will be some list building restrictions/requirements which will be spelled out in much greater detail in the player pack. Our current FAQ has been updated since the last Doubles event and I suspect some additional rulings will need to be made given how much the game has changed.

Keep up to date by checking out our Discord and feel free to drop a question there.

Hammertime: Fields of Ash – Team Tournament

Okay, we heard you. Ya’ll want another team event! Here we go! Field’s of Ash will be our Fall Team Tournament for 2025 on October 25&26 at Winfield Memorial Hall in Lake Country BC.

Registration is now open. We are limiting to 12 teams of 5 for a total of 60 players and will not be expanding any bigger due to space limitations so get yourselves registered right away. Player pack is soon to follow with missions!

Couple of new things for this event;

  • We’ll be hosting a paint contest on the Sunday during the lunch break for players to enter with models individually with tokens given out for Gold, Silver, and Bronze. There will not be a team paint score this time.
  • Custom trophies for the top team placing
  • Some cool new prizing packs up for raffle and best sportsmanship

HELL Season 6

Right around the corner we’ll be launching HELL S6. There was a quite a turn out for the TTS league we ran over the Summer but I’m certain with the new Chapter Approved pack out and several new codex’s showing up very quick that many of us will want to jam some in person games.

HELL S6 will run for 8 weeks from Sept 14 – Nov 8th.

As a reminder, HELL our Hammertime Extremely Local League for Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton. Registration is now active you can find our regional BCP league by following the links above. Feel free to reach out me (Wes) as I’ll be the league manager for this season with any questions in the Discord.

Oath of the Brush Paint Challenge

Today we’re also announcing a rotating paint challenge called; Oath of the Brush. The idea behind this challenge is to clean up your backlog of models! Models can be from any system (we literally don’t care what game) and the challenge will rotate every few months.

Our first challenge start on September 1st 2025 and run until the end of the month. The challenge is to completely paint a unit of infantry of at least 5 models or more.

How do you take an Oath you ask?

  • Join the Hammertime Discord
  • Make a post under #oath-of-the-brush following the guidelines in the pinned post
  • Include a photo of the unpainted models you plan to paint for the challenge. Primed models is acceptable.
  • On September 30th post a picture of your complete and/or incomplete squad before end of day
  • Completed entries will be eligible for a raffle of one $20 gift card to your FLGS
  • November 2025’s challenge will be to paint a monster or vehicle.

This is meant as a fun challenge for the community to help folks get their armies painted with encouragement and not a serious painting contest. No matter what skill level you have we encourage everyone to try their best. Challenges like this are also a great way to share hobby painting tips and tricks around.

General Updates

Couple of other updates from the Hammertime Team. We’re moving forward going to aim to run 3 major GT/Team Events per year with a selection of casual RTT’s throughout. Our overall goal is to run between 6-8 events per year in the Okanagan. If we do more, awesome.

To date we are on track to run nine 40k events, which is a pretty solid number for an organization entirely made up of volunteers.

Speaking of volunteers, we’re excited to announce that Naythan Walsh has joined the Hammertime team and will be assisting with some upcoming events in our near future. Welcome aboard Naythan. Learn more about our team here.

I also have some other ideas we’ve been considering around Hammertime to share with the community which include;

  • Hammertime Blood Drive – mobilizing our community to participate in a Blood Drive is an easy way for us to give back to the community and save lives. I’ll post more about this after I found what we need to do to participate with Blood Canada.
  • Community Mini-Swap – got a pile of plastic you want to trade or sell or just give away? we’re looking for a space that could facilitate this on a weekend. If you have a space you’d be willing to share please reach out on the Discord, especially to me (Wes).

Okay – that’s all I got. Oh and join the Discord damnit.
-Wes
