“Congratulations!

Hammertime: May-hem has been approved as a Qualifying Event for the 2025 World Championships of Warhammer!”

I received that email on a Friday morning, while at work. It was great news. Work wasn’t particularly enjoyable that day (2 degrees and slushing is pretty miserable weather), so that email really made the day.

To top it off, we received not one but three tickets. Why did we apply for three? Good question, I’m glad you asked. May-hem is five rounds and capped at 80 players. Inevitably multiple players will finish 5-0, or five wins and zero losses. Those that finish at the top of the standings are all really good warhammer players, and it’s difficult to only send one person to worlds.

Oh right – explaining worlds and golden tickets. Games Workshops hosts their World Championships of Warhammer in Atlanta – this year will be Nov 6-9. You can’t just buy tickets to this event, you have to win them at events. This year, we’re awarding three “golden tickets” to our top placing 40k players. So three highly skilled attendees will have the opportunity to compete at the World Championship of Warhammer! Pretty exciting stuff.

If you haven’t bought your tickets to May-hem already, you can do so through the BCP event. Also, check out our player code of conduct. While we encourage competitive play, we recognize this is a fun hobby and we value sportsmanship and fair play above winning.
